This project is close to home because it is Emma’s very own kitchen! When Emma and John decided to convert an old barn and link it to two adjoining Cotswold stone cottages, they seized the chance to create a unique open-plan living space.
The barn conversion combines a kitchen, dining and living area, so a priority was to maximise the use of space. The kitchen working area is cleverly demarcated by a change in level, which gives it a slightly elevated perspective. An island unit straddles the step, with the kitchen side at worktop height and the dining side at a bar-top height. This design solution makes the space sociable while also creating a clear boundary between the different areas. The Neptune kitchen Chichester range of cabinets have been selected to give the kitchen a freestanding feel and are complimented by a Neptune dresser and dining table.
