Cotswold Country Estate

With eight children and only a cramped, narrow space for a kitchen, our clients at this Cotswold country estate needed a smart design solution. The old kitchen consisted of a long, awkward room, hemmed in by base cabinets and separated from the dining room by an old-fashioned hatch. With low ceilings, four windows and three doorways, wall space was minimal.

Our design solution embraces the linearity of the room to perfectly suit the needs of a large family. We removed the load-bearing wall and created a multi-purpose island. The four meter bespoke Neptune Suffolk island has space for the whole family and houses the kitchen essentials – two dishwashers flanked by pull out trays and chopping boards with a gas hob and wide pan drawers and large cupboards for dry foods. Add an Aga, two stainless steel fridges and a bespoke Kashmir white-granite worktop and you have a beautiful family kitchen that will stand the test of time.
